The charity I work with has multiple locations with different users needing different levels of access. For some that is just read only whilst others need limited input.

For recording purchases:

The handy interface elements and functionality from the old UI have been removed:

– The calendar ‘today’ button has gone

– Within the calendar the ‘saving’ of the date, now gets reset to today/current date when entering a new invoice, which used to be useful when recording an older batch purchases in chronological order

– The handy down arrow which applied the selected date to multiple fields has gone

– You now have to click ‘add a line item’ to record the purchase description, which slows the process down

– There’s a redundant ‘rate’ column, which makes sense when invoicing but not here.

-To add a payment requires you to save the purchase then a click add payment, again slowing down the process.

-The date of payment now requires re selection. It would be good to have an option to use the issue date as default, to avoid this work

– As the IU uses overlays it’s generally slower to navigate

For invoicing,

The description field is one line in heigh, and could do with bigger by default.

We too have the same issue of not being able to view any previously uploaded documents. I see the move from Amazon to Dropbox as a cost saving move, and one we’re unhappy about. I don’t expect a paid for system to utilise a free service for storage of documents. This, together with usability problems on recurring invoices, and the long promised but ever elusive multi-user feature has lead us to look at alternative options.

Now I see that there’s a new pricing structure for new customers, however we’re still being charged at £18/month. This is not the way to treat your loyal customers, we’ve been with KashFlow for over 3 years now, and I’m afraid is the nail in the coffin for us.

Thanks for your feedback! The issue that was mentioned in your ticket has been a little bit of a tricky one to solve as it required a bit of help from the add on themselves and communicating outside of KashFlow unfortunately can lead to excess resolution times. We can only apologise for this and assure you we will always try to be better next time!

There was an underlying issue with your integration, this is the one that was fixed. In regards to the switch from Amazon to Dropbox servers, I have sent you over some details on the ticket that you sent to the support team which should resolve the issue you have been seeing with the switch. You should then be able to view the attachments right away from the download button. Feel free to reply to that email and let me know how you are getting on with this and if there is any further issues with this.

One thing I would like to pick up on is that the recent acquisition from IRIS, obviously as you can imagine, has meant some changes. One thing that should not of changed though is your level of support and software issues. We are working with the exact same support team and same development team as we were before. Being part of IRIS has allowed us to get this new product out to you much quicker and we still have lots more exciting things in the pipeline which we can’t wait to tell you about.

Sorry again for your trouble Oliver, I hope we are moving forwards now, but please remember there are some exciting upgrades and features all to come!

Regards

Adam

Thanks for your feedback, it’s always appreciated. I am sorry to hear about the trouble you have been having. Disappointed and frustrated is 100 percent not how we like our customers to be and hopefully we can turn this around.

You can be sure that we have not intentionally weakened the intuitiveness and how user friendly the application is. Any changes we have made, small or big have all been done with our customers and how they work in mind. It would be great if you could let me know what specific changes in particular are affecting you and affecting the way you use KashFlow. So please feel free to drop an email to support@kashflow.com and mark it for my attention and I will pick this up for sure.

With anything new it can sometimes takes a little while to get used to, and underneath all the new code and technology is the same mission to make doing your books as simple as possible and ensuring your experience is never compromised.

Drop me an email Neil and we can talk about this some more.

Regards

Adam

On upgrading to the new site I discovered that I was unable to access files (scans of purchase invoices) that had been added to purchase receipts on KashFlow after the upgrade. However I was able to access files that had been added to purchase receipts prior to the upgrade. I realised that prior to the upgrade, all files added to purchase receipts were uploaded to and stored on Amazon Simple Storage Solution (AWS S3) and pulled in for viewing as requested. This was a system that worked well. In fact I use AWS S3 to store all the video and audio media on my site and it is an excellent service. Unfortunately, as part of the upgrade, KashFlow decided to stop using AWS S3 and instead have decided that all files added to purchase receipts should now be stored in DropBox. Which would be fine, if KashFlow was then able to access those files and display them on demand. Which at the moment it is unable to do.

For a long time KashFlow refused to admit it was a problem saying that it was a browser issue and that I needed to disable the ability to view pdfs within the browsers. This totally overlooked the fact that I was able to view pdfs in my browser that had been pulled in from AWS S3. This was clearly a problem of KashFlow being unable to pull in files from DropBox.

Today I received an email from support to say that the issue had been fixed. But having checked via Firefox, Safari and Chrome browsers I find I am still unable to access files saved to my purchase receipts. To add insult to injury when I last logged in to Kashflow a pop-up window appeared to say that I would now be unable to access any files stored in AWS S3 and that KashFlow needed to transfer them to Dropbox. Having been given no alternative I had to agree and as a result have lost access to all the copies of purchase invoices that were attached to the corresponding purchase receipts.

I am convinced that this ongoing problem and KashFlow’s reluctance/inability to rectify it is tied up with the purchase of KashFlow by Iris. Based on my experience with KashFlow prior to the takeover, this problem would never have been allowed to happen and if it did, it would have been resolved very quickly.

The old system was intuitive and user friendly – and that was its strength. Encountered bugs which nobody in support seems to respond to for ages. An advocate of Kashflow, now I am getting to feel that Kashflow has lost the plot. What is going on? The strange thing is that the company seems to be in a ‘self-congratulations’ mode.
Features that were useful to me have disappeared. I am worried for my business for putting so much reliance on Kashflow.

Hi Davymac, you can switch to the new UI by going to https://securedwebapp.com/migrate.asp and logging into your account. Click on the ‘Switch to the New KashFlow Now’ button.
Click on the ‘manage subscription’ tab and select the price that suits you. Your new pricing will be reflected on your next bill. Hope this helps 🙂

Drop and drag crashes out JS. Cannot use new Kashflow properly on Macs. Please sort ASAP. 🙁

Any idea when I can move to the new system – and how does this affect my monthly billing, with the new price plans?

Cheers.
