If you go to Settings -> Advanced Settings and enable the “Configure Nominals” option then when you are next creating/editing a Sales Type or Outgoing Type you’ll be able to classify it as Cos, Fixed Asset, etc.

It is very much designed for the non-accountant, so I can see why you might find some of it counter-intuitive.

If you have any other questions in the future then either email support AT KashFlow.co.uk or click the Help tab within your account – you’ll get a much quicker response than posting here.

However, as someone with an accounting background, I’m finding it a little difficult to navigate at times, precisely because it doesn’t use accountant-speak!

For instance, I know that when I buy some furniture, that’s a fixed asset rather than an expense. But how on earth do I show this in KashFlow? I’d appreciate your thoughts on processing of balance sheet items like this.
