Good write-up! Quite disappointing indeed that an event patronised by semi-celebrities of the business world sinks that low. They should know better.

Just a small correction – I registered for the event and asked for tickets. I got the tickets, went to the event (largely a waste of time), and got a few snail mails about it later – and then this spam (no doubt the first of many, but since I use specific email addresses for each place where I register, I can also shut off that address if it gets bad).

But you are correct that I did not opt-in for any such mailing (I never opt in for 3rd party mailings, ever).
