Another one of those would be to start giving business/marketing/strategy advice to everybody and anybody even if they are in a totally different market, and ESPECIALLY if they didn’t ask for it!

Must get myself a follower on that thingy that you mentioned.

I recommend this post too:

Thanks for the inspiration credit – that was a very funny conversation that has led to a long shopping list and numerous job titles for my partner πŸ™‚

We can’t let this moment pass without mentioning the conference call though. Having to work odd hours because one must be involved with a conference call to a far flung destination is the success emblem of all emblems surely?

My favourite one though is getting a cab and referring to the driver as ‘my driver’! As in “my driver will drop me off” haha

Now I must get on. My driver is here to take me to a conference call! πŸ™‚

I think I am going to aim for ‘owner of a profitable business’, not quite as catchy but it’s where I want to be.

Recommend the book ‘Rework’ by the 37 Signals guys and they blitz the tag ‘entrepreneur’ and replace it with ‘STARTER’

Or in the real world, maybe think “Um. What would be good here? I can kinda choose…”

Pay loads to get your brand new website ranked high on every search engine (‘cos other guru’s tell you that’s the best way to get traffic)
Write the longest webpage every – vertical sales letter, spiced with testimonials, extra bonuses and of course a paypal button for all of your followers to purchase your unique guide on getting more twitter, facebook followers – or some other topic other “also-run” entrepreneurs are dying to read so they have the next idea/plan to ponder about, write about but never implement

1) Writing the business plan, a tome of about 40cm thick and best used as a doorstop – I mean would you read anything that long?
2) Changing the names on their business cards. So Executive Director of Widgets became Director Executive of Widgets then Executive (Director) (no widgets included). Each time these titles changed more business cards were printed and each had a tweak to the logo/layout barely perceptible but to the keenest eyes.
3) They required people on the team to “express support” by having all night brain storming sessions.

I always thought they were a lot more professional than me, but it all ended in tears when their tech guy got so annoyed that he sabotaged their website!!!

Can we remove the term “virtual assistant” being used as a diary keeper though? I’d like to see those phone services do what I do in a day!!! Not the same thing at all!

Iphone, Blackberry and either Android or Win7 Mob. Then you must make sure your calendar syncs on all of them, plus outlook on your machine.. and your iPad, because you are that important.
