Oh, and aparently astrology had something to do with it too! In fact the only person that she does not blame is herself.

I am not sure who is more deluded; Miss Elnaugh or Leon Haywood for booking her as if she is some sort of role model for entrepreneurs.

However, the reality it seems is far different. Rather than empathise with a guy trying his best, she kicks him when he’s down and possibly opens herself up to legal action.

Why with her self processed busines-healing abilities did she not jump in to assist rather than condemn?

Rachel you are a fake.

If he was a conman as some have said then he would have “cut and run” not spend hours and hours sorting out refunds and alternative events for the ticket holders

I get what you’re saying, but since you were as you say the main magnet for getting other speakers and attendee’s then Leon is hardly going to dare say that the sales are going badly for fear you’ll drop out. I wouldn’t call it dishonest because he’d implied that all was going well, in the hopes a last push at sales in the final weeks before the event would make everything all right. If he had told you weeks ago that sales were going badly, he would run the risk of you dropping out and then others dropping out etc etc, then he would have had no chance of making it work.

You can’t blame the guy for trying to cover up the failure of the event in the hopes that a solution would present itself at the eleventh hour – most people would probably do the same thing.

Let’s get your facts straight.

By the time the event was cancelled there were 90 different speakers (many enrolled on the strength of my participation) and 4,500 tickets had been sold.

The problem shared by me and many other speakers involved is that we have promoted this event in good faith into our personal client databases and have been strung along and lied to throughout the run up to the show.

If Leon had been honest throughout (instead of feeding us all bullshit) everyone would have a lot more sympathy and I dare say offered more support.

Rachel

…Therefore, I would expect Rachel to have a little bit more patience and sympathy for someone possibly going through the same situation. E2live may, or may not, be a con – only time will tell – but to condemn a man before he’s even been given the chance to refund tickets if unfair. Innocent Until Proven Guilty.

Maybe he made the big mistake of paying for a washed-up dragon to speak at an event and then found out the hard way that no one would want to pay to listen to her.

Classy lady though.

See my post at http://www.rachelelnaugh.com/opinions-and-rants/used-and-abused for all the gory details.

Red Letter Days was a company run in good faith and forced into administration by Barclays Bank – despite the fact it had £3.3million cash at bank – on the basis the money (+ another £1.7 million collateral) was needed in respect of the contingent liability on vouchers paid for by credit card.

12 months later the amount paid out to redeem all those vouchers was just £1.2million – meaning we were over-bonded by c£3.5million.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Barclays acted unlawfully, but in business when someone else with huge power decides it’s ‘Game-Over’ there’s very little you can do.

That’s good news for those who intend getting refunds. Still no word about how to recover other costs, for those who have spent money on train tickets or marketing costs.

In his email to ‘speakers’ http://bit.ly/d2aUfq he states that E2 Live Holdings Ltd have made the ‘announcement’.

First question. Why is E2 Live Holdings Ltd not registered at Companies House? If it’s genuine then should it have not been Vulpine Financial Services Ltd (Leon’s other business) who own the domain name of http://www.the2live.com who made the statement of postponement?

@louisbarnett asks why Leon hasn’t called him back, after various phone calls tweets and email contact. @e2expo manages to make other responses.

I sent out a tweet at 11.50 @e2expo ARE YOU FOR REAL? DO THE RIGHT THING – REIMBURSE TICKET MONEY & COVER COSTS #E2LIVE #GEWUK #GEW. Leon called me on my number within 10 minutes, saying I should have rung him if I had an issue. He had from 1600 hours the day before to ring me.

Even after the email announcement there was no information on the website until after 3pm about the event being cancelled and that was a tweet feed. Not exactly an explanation. Ian Sanders had urged for an announcement around 1pm ‘@e2expo i urge you to announce on Twitter and your website that #E2LIVE is cancelled!!’

So second question: If it is merely a case of ‘good idea poor sales’ then did the ticket purchasing system close down at 1600 on Thursday? I’m sure that any auditors would like to know that answer.

Finally, in the spirit of recognising efforts to repay people I posted ‘@e2expo Glad to see you’re paying @grantridley back. What is the process for refunds? Tickets and incurred costs? #e2live’

So last and final question: Leon, why not be forthcoming and post proper guideline on the front page of the website http://www.thee2live.com How you can claim a refund for Tickets for visitors and one that allows those who’ve incurred other costs to be shown a process for that too?

As for the ‘event’ it seemed a classic case of good idea + poor sales = fail. I was interested in going myself as a number of speakers I follow and have had meetings with were due to be there, the early alarm bell rang for me when the video to publicise the event seemed to be filmed outside at a Zoo???

Innocent until proven guilty?
