Ok, so my name is Chris Carlton. I’m a web developer/geek. I’m currently the Webmaster for the Agency for Health Care Administration of the State of Florida. I love building web sites and just working with web technologies.
I also work with my good friend, Dan Snider, and together we are Partners In Design, a small web design/development company that focuses on quality functional web sites for small businesses and churches.
My lovely wife, Wendy, and I have been married for eight(?!) years now, and we have two beautiful children, Sydney and TJ.
I just added a Google map below that will display my current location using the Google Latitude, http://www.google.com/latitude/, service that runs on my HTC Diamond smartphone. This is more or less an experiment just to try out the service plus I think it's kinda kewl.
Ok, so I've been using Sweetcron for about a week now to grab the RSS feeds from my various online services, flickr for my photos, del.icio.us for my bookmarks, twitter for my status updates, and google reader for news I find interesting. I decided to throw my Facebook feed in…
For the last few months my site has consisted of a kludged together lifestream setup. You can still see the old page if you like, but I'm moving on. I'm in the middle of setting up an automated life stream solution, Sweetcron, as you can see from all the mess.…

Five last-minute gifts you can print!
No more late-night runs to the convenience store for something, anything, you can wrap. If you've got five minutes and a printer, you can create a genuinely nice gift. Originally posted at The Cheapskate

Filed under: iPhoneThe Guardian has a story on US military contractor Raytheon who's begun building a series of applications for the iPhone for use in the battlefield. Their first military app is called One Force Tracker and uses satellite positioning…
Neato's VX-11 robot vacuum maps out your floor for efficiency, doesn't ask for weekends off
Heads-up, Roomba -- your worst nightmare just waltzed into this space we like to call "reality," and it looks fully capable of giving your dirt sucking powers a run for their money. Neato Robotics, a Silicon Valley startup, has just…
Android Market hits 20,000 apps, over 60 percent free
Quantity rarely equals quality, of course, but it's still fairly notable that the Android Market has now managed to top 20,000 apps just a little over a year after it opened its doors -- Apple's App Store had over 50,000…
Verizon’s Affair With Wi-Fi Heats Up

Stocking Stuffer: Fake pregnancy test
I’m just reporting, of course, so let’s not kill the messenger. Don’t think of this fake pregnancy test as a cruel/hilarious joke to play on your significant other but as more of a relationship barometer. If your boyfriend, fiancé, or…
One Potential Batmobile [Concepts]
How could Christopher Nolan ever follow up on the Tumbler? Maybe he won't. Maybe Batman will just walk. But should Nolan give in to inevitable studio pressure to design another new, marketable Battoy, I humbly propose this modified Lamborghini Ankonian.…
I Would Buy the Philco PC Right This Second [Concepts]
The iMac? That would be sent back in a heartbeat for this glorious homage to the 50s. The Philco PC is pretty much a reimagined Philco Predicta—a short-lived but ridiculously iconic television. Then there are other fantastic touches as well,…
Text to Speech via HTML5 Audio
Weston Ruter has created a nice mashup that marries HTML5 Audio support in modern browsers with the new Google Translate API that does text to speech (for them): Recently Google Translate announced the ability to hear translations into English spoken…
Something Tells Me This Paintball Gun Is Cheating [R/c]
That could be a real gun mounted on those wheels, but 20 non-lethal paintballs a second honestly sound a whole lot more cruel than regulation bullets. This understated "Robotic Weapon" is a paintball gun mounted on a 4-wheel-drive E-Maxx truck.…
Turn your PC into a TiVo for $39.99
It's a great option for a spare PC. And even if you're not wild about the TiVo software or service, the bundled Hauppauge tuner is worth $99 all by itself. Originally posted at The Cheapskate
Surprise! There will be another iPhone next year
After 3 years of back-to-back new iPhones, it probably doesn't take a whole lot of guts (or brains, for that matter) to predict that Apple will be announcing a new iPhone in 2010. But when this guy comes along and…

Mechas, Hovercycles and Flying Bikes: Meet the Tony Stark of Wasilla, Alaska [Inventors]
Wasilla, Alaska: Home to moose, human, and most notoriously, one Sarah Palin. Its most famous resident may be a divisive one, but I think we can all agree that Carlos Owen, backyard roboticist and aspiring mad scientist, is a hero.…
