Another improvement to our accounting software based on feedback from our customers:
In an effort to increase the efficiency and reliability of our email backups, we’re going to be making some changes to delivery date of some users backups.
Currently, you can enable email backups by going to Settings > Email Backups and by selecting a day of the month to receive your backups.
Because of the continued growth of KashFlow, this has meant that we’re now generating thousands of backups, with the outright majority of these being created on a few certain days.
Because of the demand on these days and the uneven distribution across the month, this occasionally meant that backups weren’t getting reliably delivered to some users, particularly if you had your backups set to the 1st or 28th of the month. This required support intervention to either resend the backup or advise on how to take a manual backup.
To solve this problem we’ve taken the decision to remove the day selector from email backups with the system selecting a date for you to receive your backup instead. Your backup will be still be delivered monthly, meaning that if you receive your backup on the 7th of January, subsequent backups will always be delivered on the 7th of the month.
The majority of existing users will not be affected by this change; however if your backup is on the 1st of the month you are likely to have this modified.
We’ll be enacting this change in the next few days. You’ll be able to see what date you’ll receive your backup by going to Settings > Email Backups > The date will be displayed clearly at the bottom of the page.
We hate changing functionality like this and hope that you understand we’ve taken this decision in order to give all of users a reliable and consistent service every day.
